How to calculate a route?
How do I give a preferred arrival time?
Use the search form to specify a departure time or arrival time (but not both).
In all cases, Mobilimousin will search for the best possible route to allow you to arrive at roughly the time you want (before and after). What are the search options?
There are 3 search options:
- The fastest,
This option will find the route that arrives the soonest after the requested time.
- The least amount of walking,
If you use this option, Mobilimousin will search for the fastest route that arrives the soonest after the requested time and requires the least amount of walking.
- The fewest connections.
With this option, Mobilimousin will search for the fastest route that arrives the soonest after the requested time and requires the fewest connections.
In some cases, the solutions offered by Mobilimousin may be the same, irrespective of which option you select, as they already involve the least amount of walking and the fewest connections for the requested date and time.Must I select or unselect methods of transport?
By default, all methods of transport are included in the route calculation. For more specific needs (e.g. question of accessibility or personal choice), you can choose to unselect one or more methods of transport.
In this case, certain route options may not be offered. How do I understand the proposed results?
Mobilimousin automatically offers X solutions for your search. These take account of your search criteria (the fastest, the fewest connections, the least amount of walking) and your requirements (leave before or arrive after).
The pictograms represent the different methods of transport (bus, trains, coach, etc.) that you will use during your journey.
Click on Details for a breakdown of your route and to view your route description.
You can also use the “Previous routes” or “Next routes” functions to find out about other journey options during the day.Why does Mobilimousin ask my to clarify my search?
Your departure/arrival point must be too far from the station or a coach or bus stop (no transport network listed in Mobilimousin goes near it). In this case, Mobilimousin offers to extend its search area to find a stop served by a transport network. To do this, Mobilimousin needs to know how you intend to cover the extra distance.
You are therefore offered 3 alternatives: walk further, use a bike or use a motor vehicle.
If Mobilimousin offers these alternatives, choose one of them so that it can work out a route. What is the geographical area covered?
You can carry out route or timetable searches throughout the Limousin Region and from the main stations of France’s major cities (Bordeaux, Paris, Lyon, etc.).
Outside the Limousin Region, you may only search by station.
See the Partner networks map [Partners Page] to find out which transport networks form part of Mobilimousin. What are the blue pictograms for in the route breakdowns?
You can click on the blue pictograms to view the departure, connection and arrival points on a map or satellite picture.
Why can’t I do a complete journey in a car?
Mobilimousin is first and foremost a tool used for carrying out multimodal route searches in the Limousin Region based on public transport. You may however use a car to reach your departure or arrival point if these are too far from the regional public transport network.
In this case, see the “Transport Services” page on which you may find one or more people who are doing the same journey as you. What can I enter as a departure or arrival point?
Mobilimousin allows you to search for routes from or to:
- A postal address in the Limousin Region
- A transport stop served by one of Mobilimousin’s partner networks
- A public building (Town Hall, Departmental Council building, Prefecture, primary or secondary schools, etc.)
For the search to be effective, we recommend that you enter two bits of information on your departure or arrival point: firstly, an address, public building or bus stop and, secondly, the commune. Your request should be entered naturally, e.g. “rue Jean Jaures in Orléans”.
If a commune has a compound name, enter its name in full if Mobilimousin doesn’t find it.I can’t choose my preferred date
The calendar offers dates for which all the transport networks included in Mobilimousin have supplied data. As a general rule, you can carry out searches 1 month ahead of the day’s date. This may however vary according to each transport network’s schedules.
You cannot carry out searches for a date prior to the day’s date. -
